Privacy policy

Book the Church is operated by Wroot Labs, LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect about churches
When a church signs up, we collect: the church name and contact email, the signing admin’s name and email (via Clerk), the spaces you configure, and the bookings + invoices you process. We collect whatever else you choose to enter — addresses, phone numbers, pricing rules, photos.
What we collect about renters
When someone submits a rental request on your public page, we store the name, email, and booking details they provide. This data is only visible to you, your authorized church admins, and Book the Church staff for support purposes.
Payment data
We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details. Payment data is handled by Stripe (for Stripe-mode churches) or by whichever processor you link out to (for external-link mode).
Who we share data with
We use a small set of reputable subprocessors to operate the service: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Upstash (rate limiting). Each receives only the data necessary to perform its function.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it to train external AI models.
Cookies & analytics
We use Clerk’s session cookies to keep you signed in, and Vercel’s anonymous analytics to understand aggregate traffic. Neither sells or rents data to third parties.
Your rights
You can export your data at any time from the admin interface, and you can request deletion by emailing us. We will comply within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal retention we’re required to perform.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We follow reasonable industry practices for software of this size. No service is invincible — if we ever experience a breach involving your data, we’ll notify affected customers promptly.
